2020 Presidential Election in Knoxville – Will Your Vote Count?

Knoxville Citizen – 2020 Presidential Election in Knoxville – Will Your Vote Count?

Over the years we have continously heard the ongoing Electoral College debate.

Does your vote count or doesn’t it?

We wanted to take a closer look at this in hope’s of finding an answer for the people of Knoxville, so we did a little research. To no surprise, we found that the majority of the time, Tennessee is a Red state and that’s something that probably won’t change anytime soon — or will it?

The last time(s) Tennessee was a Blue / Democratic state was in 1992 & 1996 when Bill Clinton and Tennessee native Al Gore ran the rat race. There has been four Presidential Elections since then and Tennessee has held steady as a red state.

There seems to be no significant indications that the 2020 Election will be any different. So, is it worth your time to leave the house to go vote?

We think so…

There are factors that we fail to consider during this ongoing debate and one of those is the number of eligible people that vote verses the number of people that just stay home.

During the 2016 Presidential Election only 61.4 percent of eligible voters actually voted. Would the election have ended differently if all eligible voters voted? I guess we will never know.

Did that many people nationwide not vote because they were undecided or did they just not care?

We believe that while we all have the right to vote, we also have the right to not vote, I guess that’s the great part of living in a free country, but there is a small chance that our decision to vote or to not vote could change the course of American History.

There’s no way to determine if Tennessee will be red or blue this year, but when the decision is made, wouldn’t it be nice to know that Knoxville did everything they could to make the right decision for the future of this country?

Will your vote count or make a difference? We don’t know, but we think it’s worth the effort for each of us to go do our part.

See you at the polls!
