Happy Hour Knoxville: 10 Places to Hit Up After Work

Happy Hour Knoxville: 10 Places to Hit Up After Work

Nothing gets us through a rough work day quite like having plans for happy hour. We’ve all counted down the hours, minutes and seconds until we can kick our feet up with a good drink, great food and best friends. With so many options for your after work wind down, we’ve gathered the top 10 places for you and your friends to forget your workday stresses and make amazing memories.

1. Balter Beerworks

Even the newest residents of Knoxville know this is the place to be. The food, atmosphere and drinks make Balter Beerworks the best place to hang out after a day packed with meetings. Their happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3-6:30. There is plenty of time for you to try their fish tacos for $1.50 or their hot chicken sliders for $2!

2. Stock & Barrel

Now, this place doesn’t have a happy hour, but with burgers and bourbon on the menu, who are we to judge? Stock & Barrel uses local and fresh ingredients for all their food. We recommend the Mother Clucker or the Hurt Locker! For our vegetarian readers, they offer the Deadhead. Wash it all down with a glass of whiskey. Neat or on the rocks, this place has you covered.

3. Water Into Wine

This is the perfect place to wine a little and laugh a lot. (See what we did there?) There are over 300 wines on their menu so even the self-proclaimed wine connoisseur of the group will find something to enjoy. Happy hour is from 3-6 p.m. everyday. With half off select wines and a $10 cheese and charcuterie board, this place is a must after a long day.

4. Babalu Tapas & Tacos

If you’re craving something with a Latin twist, we’ve got you. Babalu Tapas & Tacos offers amazing tapas, tacos, margaritas and mojitos to cure your workday blues. If you’d rather wait till the weekend, this places offer a weekend brunch menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

5. Blackhorse Pub & Brewery

Beer enthusiasts, rejoice. Here’s the perfect place to grab a cold one with the boys. (And girls!) Blackhorse Pub & Brewery is one of the first craft breweries in Tennessee so you know they know their beers! Order a burger and one of the breweries specialty beers and call it a day. We recommend the Imperial Red Ale!

6. The Public House

For an eclectic crowd and cheap drinks, check this place out. Chit chat with locals and bond over how amazing their white truffle flavored popcorn is. The Public House offers a wide assortment of wines and cocktails to pair with their food menu. They have fun house concoctions like Thai and Stop Me (bourbon, Irish cream and house-brewed thai tea) and Bobbing For Apples (apple bourbon, sage cardamom syrup, lemon and ginger bitters) that can turn any day around.

7. Token Game Tavern

Bring out your inner child and forget about that stack of paperwork on your desk at this place. Stocked with the holy grail of arcade games, Token Game Tavern lets you get your drink and game on. They have games like Donkey Kong, PacMan and even pinball for the arcade game purists. Kick back and relax with a beer, sliders and a game of foosball with your buddies.

8. Fieldhouse Social

This place is for all the (legal!) UT students. Close to campus and stocked with good drinks and better food, you’ve found your go-to place to watch the Vols kick some butt on Saturdays. Fieldhouse Social isn’t just your run-of-the mill-sports bar so don’t cross it off the list when it comes to happy hour. With a menu that offers more than just beer food, bring your coworkers to catch the game.

9. The Casual Pint – Bearden

Another one for the craft beer enthusiasts! A great places to hang out and relax, the beer selection will impress everyone in the group. Rather grab a six-pack and chill at home? The Casual Pint – Bearden offers a Mix-A-Six packs that lets visitors mix and match six beers for their liking. They even offer growlers-to-go straight from their tap.

10. Downtown Grill & Brewery

This place has to be a staple on your happy hour list. From 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, you can get a craft pint or mug for $2.50 or margaritas for $3. If your group is a little competitive, Downtown Grill & Brewery offers poker night every Monday and trivia night every Wednesday.
