Travis MacCody Shows Incredible Strength
Knoxville Citizen – Blown Up Veteran Travis Strong Shows Incredible Strength
Travis MacCody Strong is one of those guys that has been places and experienced things that most of us will never have to endure.
He lives each day with disabilities that he received fighting for the freedom of each and every American. As you can see the the image above, he doesn’t let this hold him back. Rather, he embraces it and at times even has a little fun with it.
There were some that didn’t appreciate what he was doing and he even receive hate mail, but considering he was the one who was actually blown up during combat, can anyone really question him?
Here was his response:
Okay so like 6 or 7 years ago I was dressed up for Halloween. I was a Blown Up soldier!! I thought it was perfect…and most of my friends did to. But I actually got some hate mail for doing it! I didn’t give to flying fucks what they said but it was crazy to me to get mad at something I was. So I think this next Halloween I want to offend even more people!! I want to revise the Blown Up soldier costume but I want to add another element. If by chance I am with someone by then or if not and someone wants to volunteer..I need a partner to dress up as a suicide bomber. I am SURE just from this post I am going to get some hate mail… can’t wait to see what I get when Halloween comes!!!
P.S. to clarify some things… I am a veteran I served in the Army 11 years. In 2006 I was blown up inside of a Stryker and lost both of my legs because of the blast.
And for everybody that says this is in poor taste… pretty much all the adult costumes on Halloween are in poor taste so give me a break. It’s Halloween!
-Travis MacCody Strong
He has even received legitimate support from other veterans.
Strong is one of those guys that leads by example. After he endured severe trauma and came away with a disability that he would have to deal with for the rest of his life, he decided to push on and do his best to set a positive example for everyone around him.
Even through adversity, he lives everyday to the fullest.
If anything, we think we could learn a thing or two from Strong. Instead of sending him hate mail, send him a quick note on his Facebook page thanking him for is service and his sacrifice for us all.
We know we will.
Cheers, Travis MacCody Strong!
